"I dreamt of life without winter, without dreaming- a meadow without flowers, an ocean without drowning, a flight without falling... Without sadness. I wore you like a scar, a memory much like driftwood from the salty regrets.. Always thrown back to pine in these hailstorms; alone here on the dead gravel, wrapped up in three words to break me.
"I love you." You were gone before the rain even touched my open window, tapping 'good-bye' on my sodden bedsheets. These memories, my broken hummingbird, lullaby me in the wake of your frantic flight; you should land, dear irrepairable soul. But, this was never to be, now was it? Nostalgia is all that is left. These memories gulped up the last of our good times, drinking deep from the well of what was left usaid. I swallowed as they swallowed, bitter- how can I not love you? I can't remember if I woke up; I can't remember if I'm awake. This may just be a story told by a liar with a handfull of seeds that will never give, never grow. Click Here To See Entire Piece |
